fiji_yas_001		 What the heck happened to back of car? We laughed hysterically when saw this. Can you guess what its purpose is? See next photo...
fiji_yas_002		 They use this silly "half car" to push the seaplanes into water.
fiji_yas_003		 "We have to go on THAT?! Are you kiddin' me?!" Stephanie took her fear of flying one step further with a 30-minute ride rickety little seaplane (it beat the 5-hour small boat, which was our other option). She ended up loving it.

fiji_yas_005		 Just before takeoff... here we go! The earphones are to shield us from extremely loud noises of plane (or, in Ken's case, yelps his co-passenger).

fiji_yas_009		 We're just about to land in The Blue Lagoon (yes, where they filmed movie). island front of us is our first Fijian destination, Tavewa (part Yasawa Islands).
fiji_yas_010		 As we unload, others are heading back to the mainland. Notice that everyone gets on and off plane barefoot... including pilot, who even flies without shoes!

Welcome to David's Place, our accommodation on Tavewa Island.

fiji_yas_014		 Our first night at David's Place concluded with the weekly International Crab Racing Competition. First, you pick a (they have numbers written on their shells, like little jerseys).
fiji_yas_015		 Next... name it and cheer on! Ours was #12. We named Quin, after our friend in LA. He got last place.
